Natural water purification without chemicals – the Adventure Opti UV water purifier from Steripen. Conventional water filters often work with chemical substances to clean the water from bacteria and germs. The Adventure Opti uses the power of UV radiation for this. The long stick is simply placed in the drinking bottle and activated for 48 – 90 seconds (depending on volume) while stirring evenly. Afterwards the water can be drunk without hesitation. As no coarse particles are filtered, it is best suited for relatively clear water. Chemical substances cannot be filtered either. Care should therefore be taken to ensure that no water is taken near a town or factory. But who is on a trekking tour in a city? The Adventure Opti is powered by two CR123 batteries, which are included. It can be used for containers from 0.5 to 1 litre and is sufficient for up to 8000 applications. The drinking opening should be at least 4.45 cm due to the shape of the device. A useful plus is the integrated LED torch.
